Yes, all our advertised prices include VAT. No nasty surprises.
No separate delivery or collection charge — it's all included in the hire price we quote you.
If you're a trade customer or need multiple skips for a large project, give us a call and we'll see what we can do. We work with many local builders and contractors on an ongoing basis.

Delivery & Collection

Yes — order before midday and we aim for same-day delivery across most Swindon postcodes. Same-day availability isn't guaranteed as it depends on our schedule, but we always try. Call 01793 615358 for the best chance of getting a skip that day.
For most Swindon postcodes, standard delivery is within 24 hours. We're often quicker than that — next-morning delivery for orders placed the previous afternoon is very common.
Our standard hire period is up to 14 days. If you need longer, give us a call before the hire period ends and we can usually arrange an extension. Extensions are charged at a small daily rate.
Absolutely — if your job finishes ahead of schedule, just call us and we'll arrange early collection. We won't charge you for unused days.
Just give us a call as soon as you know. We're flexible and we understand that project timelines change. As long as you give us reasonable notice, rescheduling is usually straightforward.

Permits & Regulations

Yes. If your skip is going on a public road, pavement, or any public land, you need a permit from Swindon Borough Council. We apply for these permits regularly and can handle the application on your behalf when you book. Permits typically take 2–3 working days to process, so it's worth booking ahead if you need a road placement.
No permit is needed if the skip is entirely on your private driveway or land. It does need to be fully off the public highway — if any part of the skip overhangs the pavement or road, you'll need a permit.
A waste transfer note is a legal document that records the transfer of waste from you to us as a licensed waste carrier. You're legally required to have one for any commercial waste, and it's good practice to keep one for domestic waste too. We provide a waste transfer note with every hire.
Yes. We hold an Environment Agency Waste Carrier Licence, registration number CBDU295860. You can verify our licence at the EA public register.

What Can Go in a Skip

Most general household and construction waste is fine: rubble, soil, timber, plasterboard, bricks, tiles, metal, furniture, general household junk, garden waste and packaging. See our full prohibited items guide for a complete list.
Hazardous materials are not permitted. This includes: asbestos, gas canisters (full or empty), paint tins (unless completely dry), chemicals, solvents, fluorescent tubes, tyres, batteries, electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), clinical waste, and contaminated soil. See our full guide.
Yes, soil and rubble can go in a skip. However, heavy materials like soil, concrete and rubble should ideally not fill more than half the skip, as weight limits apply. If you have a very large quantity of soil or hardcore, call us and we can advise on the best option.
Yes — garden waste including grass clippings, hedge trimmings, branches and general plant material can go in a skip. For very large quantities of green waste only, we may be able to suggest a greener disposal option.
No — fridges, freezers and air conditioning units contain refrigerant gases and must be disposed of separately. Most local recycling centres accept them free of charge, or you can arrange a special collection.

Skip Sizes

A 4-yard midi skip or 6-yard builder's skip is the most common choice for a single room renovation. If you're doing a kitchen and bathroom at the same time, go for the 6-yard. If you're unsure, it's usually better to go one size up — you won't be charged extra for space you don't use, but you won't be able to overfill a skip.
For a full house clearance, an 8-yard large skip is usually the most practical option. For a partial clearance — say, a loft, garage or a few rooms — a 6-yard builder's skip is often enough. Call us and describe your project — we'll give you an honest recommendation.
No — skips must be filled level with the top, not above it. Overloaded skips are unsafe to transport and we're legally unable to collect them in that condition. Our driver will ask you to remove excess waste before collection. If you think you might need more room, it's better to book a larger skip.
