Everything you need to know before booking — sizes, prices, permits, and how the whole process works.
Skip hire means we deliver an open-top container to your property, you fill it at your own pace over the hire period, and we come back to collect it once you're done. It's the most straightforward way to clear a large amount of waste in one go — a house clearance, a renovation, a garden overhaul — without endless trips to the tip. LK Skips has been doing this for Swindon and the surrounding villages since 2005, and every price we quote includes VAT with nothing added on collection.
A skip placed entirely on a driveway or private land doesn't need a permit. If there's nowhere for it to go except a public road or pavement, you'll need a council permit — we deal with these regularly and can apply on your behalf as part of your booking, so it's one less thing to arrange yourself.
Most household, garden and building waste is fine — furniture, wood, soil, rubble, general clearance waste. A handful of items are prohibited by law, including asbestos, fridges and freezers, tyres, paint and gas canisters.
If a full skip isn't the right fit, we also offer grab lorry hire for fast collection of loose waste with nothing left on site, and skip bags for smaller jobs or tighter spaces.
